yourgaynextdoor is all about everything gay--the life, the lifestyle and everything else that goes along with the word gay. We will try to get you updated of the latest events, issues, hotspots, and the who's who in the Philippine gay community and beyond. This is a place where you can be free. This is a place where you are who you are. Without prejudice. Without hate. Just freedom, equality, belonging, respect, love and pride.

yourgaynextdoor has witnessed the evolution of the Philippine gay scene in the past decade. From what we've seen and heard, we can say that the gay Pinoy, truly is never out of fashion. We even shine even in the international stage. Wherever we are, we always stand out. We always excel, whatever our fields are. We are strong, principled, and of course, beautiful in our own special ways.

It is amazing how blessed we are for being gay and Filipino at the same time. Just the perfect combination. It allows us to see the world differently as we get exposed with the day to day Filipino life which cannot be experienced anywhere else in the planet. We, in yourgaynextdoor are just so proud of our culture and our experiences.

Our gay community is diverse. We have the closet queens, the byukoneras, the paminta, the butch, the femme. Name it. Also, creative. Creative in finding places to meet people like us. There are bath houses, bars, chatrooms, online network sites, clans, and more. We are now just like any other gay community in the world. We have our annual pride march in December, we have our white party in July, and we have LGBT groups who are on the activist side in giving a voice to our community.

The Philippine gay spirit is indeed evident in our society today. There have been packets of initiatives all over the country in the past two decades which proves that there are individuals who are willing to be in the forefront of our struggle for acceptance, equality, and social recognition. We were pushed to the margins of what became of the Philippine society; cloaked in machismo, conservatism, and misbelief. Now that the gay pinoy's identity has finally attained it's real shape, we believe that now is the right time to begin a revolution. A new order in society. We must not let any of our brothers and sisters of today, and of the future generations, experience the hate, discrimination, and homophobia experienced by our foremothers and us today. We just have to unite all our efforts, and strengths, and turn the packets of initiatives into a one strong Philippine LGBT movement that will air out our issues and concerns and will never stop until we attain the equality and proper social recognition that we deserve.

We begin by creating this blog. We hope to reach as many Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and straight Filipinos from all walks of life, all over the world, and let them know that they are needed.

This is our battle.

These are our lives.
